Research Suggests That Married People Are Indeed Happier

I believe people often get married for the wrong reasons. Also, communication and really good quality time together tend to become contributing factors as these tend to decrease over time.

I think for marriage and long-term relationships to last, it is important to keep building the love pathways in your brain towards your partner. Do enjoyable, fun things together. Keep the love alive. How often do you hear, “We grew apart”? It takes work to keep things going strong.

An Article from psychologytoday.com explains research that was done in regards to people’s happiness after they were married, even if it didn’t last, compared to people who had never been married:

“…although our previous analyses showed that people were no more happier after marriage than before marriage, these results suggest that married people are indeed happier than they would have been if they did not get married.”
